Credits and billing

Credits are your single balance: they're used in both the chat and the API.

How credits are consumed

The cost depends on the model chosen, the volume of text sent, and the volume of text generated. Prices shown on Models are indicative and expressed per million tokens. Billing uses the exact cost of each request.

A fast model is often preferable for simple tasks. Reserve more expensive models for tasks that genuinely need their level of reasoning, coding, or vision.

Topping up your balance

With an active subscription, open Settings and choose Buy credits. Top-ups are added to the same balance as your monthly credits.

Using credits without a subscription

Your credit balance works independently of any subscription: if you obtain credits another way (for example via a claim code), you can use them in chat and via the API without being subscribed, as long as your balance is positive. Only one-time credit top-ups remain reserved for subscribers.

Claiming a code

A code provided by the TokRouter team can be exchanged for credits from Settings → Claim a code. Each code can only be claimed once per account.

Understanding your usage

The Usage section of Settings summarizes the models used, number of requests, tokens, and credits consumed over the last 30 days.

Avoiding surprises

  • Check your balance before an important or automated task.
  • Test your integration with short requests.
  • Use a separate API key per environment.
  • Regularly monitor usage of the most expensive models.
